out and about in Northwestern Ontario....

Farrah joined me for the past 5 days for a field trip out to the Experimental Lakes Area in Northwestern Ontario. She's been exposed to some new experiences this trip: pilliated woodpeckers, icy lakes, giant granite cliffs and of course Moose poo...all of which she thoroughly enjoyed. A few pictures and videos from our trip. We're heading back to the big city either tomorrow or the day after, so we still have a bit more time in the back country!

more winter fun....

we took a trip up to Lake Winnipeg this past weekend, and played around in the wide open spaces and as well as in the forest. We never saw a single person the entire time we were up there! Nice sunny days and comfortable temperatures all weekend. The Spring melt is starting, which is also dirty dog season. Farrah finished her Juvenile class the other week and will be starting a new class soon.

"wow! that's a long way to the other side!"

Farrah's famous licky-licky tongue.

Always up for a belly rub

6 months old and many apples tall!

The Nero & Story litter turned 6 months old today! Farrah is 25 1/2" tall at the withers (the counter is 36" high). Check out Farrah's big brother Sir Prize's blog to see how tall he is today. Sarah (Nero, Story and Prize's mom) also has side profile photos of both of Farrah's parents there too!

on the river trail....

spent some time cruising up the river trail yesterday. The -30 oC temperatures didn't seem to bother Farrah at all!

almost 6 months old!

It's been a few weeks since we last had an update, and there are so many photos to choose from. Here's a few of the best! Farrah is almost 6 months now, and is such a sweetie! Both ears are up full-time, all her adult teeth are in and her puppy fuzzy fur has been replaced by silky smooth adult coat. We often forget she is still a puppy, but occasionally we get a reminder and find a sock chewed up! She's a kissy maniac, and is starting to grow into her gigantic tongue. She starts Juvey class this week. She's about 60lbs and almost 25 inches at the withers now. We had a warm spell here the last week (very unusal for Winnipeg in January) melting a lot of snow. We found out something new about our little girl; She HATES puddles! I think she would rather not eat for 3 days than have to walk through a puddle and get her feet muddy!
